| Dance classes are taught by QUALIFIED ADULT TEACHERS who have the professional development to connect with the age group they instruct. Current resumes and biographies plus headshots and class descriptions are available in the office. There is a minimum of 6 students to form a class, maximum of 12 dancers per class except in adult classes and in levels where a returning dancer's ability determines placement. Younger dance and music programs limit students to 8-10 per class, depending on the style being taught. Full dance classes will have waiting lists with placement possible on a space-available basis before January of each program year. New dance students will not be accepted after December except in NEWLY FORMED, adult and non-performance classes. A complete, progressed syllabus is set for the program year (9 months from Aug/September through May/June) and is available for viewing. Levels and styles are subject to change based on registration. Students are placed within the best level for their ability and age. This is for their safety and proper progress. The month of September is used to judge each student's ability level and decide on the best placement for them in the school. Because this in a NINE-MONTH PROGRAM, please consider class choices carefully. Once a student is assigned to a class, changing is by available space and/or technical level only. One-month written notice on the WITHDRAWAL FORM (tuition paid) is required. This is to facilitate filling that space due to the limited number of dancers per class. After December, there are no refunds because the program is closed. NO REFUNDS or PRORATED FEES are made for illness or vacations. All absences can be made up in another level or style dance class. Prepaid tuition will be refunded for classes that do not form. HOLIDAYS are Thanksgiving (Tuesday thru Sunday) Week, Winter Break (usually 2 weeks - same as school districts), Spring Break (last full week of March) and Memorial Day. Other "MONDAY" holidays and school holidays ARE NOT observed - WE DO HAVE CLASSES. SNOW DAYS are called when a MAJORITY of school districts close and/or weather poses a danger to travel. As soon as the decision is made, a message on the phone system is activated. During bad weather, please call 719-475-0625 to check the extended message. Make-up classes for snow days will be announced in class with written notices and postings on the UPDATES web page. "Drop-in" adult students are welcome, but they must work at their ability level and pay either *monthly or at the drop-in rates $15 per 1-hour or $20 per 1.5-hour class. *Monthly is defined as 4 consecutive classes in the same level or style. Dancers cannot use the registered class as a make-up class. You must make up in another style or level. Irregular attendance is billed at the drop-in rate. Payment for drop-ins is due at the time the class is taken. |
