Derby Dance & Music Arts has now completed 8 months out of our 9-month program!! We are now very close to our big recital: "Aladdina & Her Amazing Lamp" and we can't wait to see everyone's hard work shine through!!! There are no regular or technique classes (music or dance) after Monday, June 2nd. On Thursday June 5th, ONLY REHEARSALS FOR RECITAL CLASSES will be held at the studios. Be sure your account is current for your dancer to receive recital tickets in May. Please pay for all classes, dancewear, accessories and snacks at the time of sale - THANK YOU! |

Choreographed by Nancy Diehl, Liv Hale, Leslie Pearce, Maritza Pineda, and Lindsay Reinold this show will feature our 4-month program dancers in Pre-Ballet and Creative Dance. Dancers from Musical Theater 1, Adult Modern and Variations are also performing. "The Garden Surprise" will be presented at the Louisa Performing Arts Center at the Colorado Springs School, 21 Broadmoor Rd. |

Costumes: Dancers wear their class clothes! - The Studio will provide all costume accessories.
Creative Dance, Pre-Ballet: Pink leotard, skirt, pink tights, pink ballet slippers.
Musical Theater 1: bare legs, bare feet - leotard and costume provided.
Variations: nude leotard, pink tights, pink pointe shoes, use own tutu, accessories provided.
DRESS REHEARSAL: Saturday, May 3rd - 10 am to 12 noon at Derby Dance & Music Arts Studios. |

The concert will follow the dance recital and start at 3:00 pm at the Colorado Springs School - Louisa Performing Arts Center. Families, friends, interested dance students and their families are invited to share the talents of our studio musicians! |

This year's big recital will take place in the mystical Middle East among the desert dunes, where camels tap dance, genies appear from clouds of smoke and things aren't always as they seem. Join us as we take the well-known story of Aladdin and give it a GIRL'S TWIST! You can imagine the fun we will have setting our dances to the funny and magical happenings with this script! As we start our 14th season, this story will be told by 4 musical theater classes and danced by 22 other classes using modern, ballet, lyrical, variations, jazz, tap, flamenco, bellydance, and hip hop! The 2 different shows are on Sat., June 7, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Each show will last 90-100 minutes with no intermission. Reception with punch and cookies follows each show in the lobby of the theater at the Louisa Performing Arts Center at the Colorado Springs School. Tuition Reminder |
|
|
Tuition is due the FIRST WEEK of classes each month to receive the discount - our way of saying THANK YOU for being prompt. Regular tuition rates are due after the first week. If you have preset your autopay after the 5th day of the month, you are charged the regular tuition rates. The recital dance program is a complete 9-month program and all classes have 36 scheduled meetings before rehearsals. SNOW DAYS are called if the MAJORITY of districts have closed and weather poses a danger to travel. Classes are made up with ample notice and all other absences should me made up as soon as possible (check with your teacher on the best class for you to attend). Be sure your attendance is recorded as a make up class. There is no refund of tuition or pro-rating for classes missed. Dancers with PERFECT AttenDANCE receive gift awards on stage after each show. |
